The servers were off line for a while last night but we are back now. Stuff happens and keeps happening. Thank you for enjoying JBGODS. We shall now continue with regular programming. – Pharaoh
Servers Online
Sometimes things happen. We don’t control the servers, all we can do is be prepared for the worst.
Everything Backed Up
After that brief little scare, we decided to get more serious about preserving all of our data.
We are in the middle of May and I have to turn my heat on again. The weather has certainly been inconsistent. It’s not a terrible thing but some warm weather through the summer months would be nice.
As soon as the sun comes out, we are outside. This dreary, gray weather is so lame. It just drains our energy.
History Of Bad Winters
Chicago has had some really foul winters over the past ten to fifteen years. We got lucky this past year. There was minimal snow to deal with. We barely had to use our salt in the sidewalks.
We had a short period of warm weather and it was great. After only a few days of sunny weather it’s cold again. This isn’t fair.
RedBull responded to showing up to Pharaoh’s freeway stunt. They’ll either provide samples or product sells to the crowd. This is a good deal. We’ll plan the event for about two months away from now so that vendors will have time for preparation. In the meantime, Pharaoh will begin some intense training and communication with the city of Chicago to prepare for this stunt. Stay connected to find out more.
Will Pharaoh be the next JBSKATER to land the axel?? He’s been working on it for so long, yet the results haven’t shown much progress.
The Gods need a dedicated photographer to capture the best moments at our events. We do not require photographers to have skates or skating skills. However, we do expect interested parties to have their own professional gear. After employment with JBGODS, photographers will receive notice of events and team gatherings. At those events, the photographer will capture candid images of event participants with higher priority on key figures. All those who are interested may send an email to skate@jbgods.com.

With much preparation, practice and study, Pharaoh is working to land the axel jump. Axels are notoriously difficult to do but they are some of the best techniques to see. No athletic skill is more important for a JBGOD to accomplish than speed and jumps. Will Pharaoh be the next JBSKATER to land an axel?? Stay in touch to find out. If you don’t know it by now, one of the hallmarks of being a JBGOD is to skate fast, do jumps and attempt some new stunts.
Some windy weather followed by a slight tornado warning swept through Chicago and the surrounding areas yesterday. However, the outdoor battles still ensued. JBGODS team skater Yehoshua battled against KenDraco yesterday and took his first competition loss. Yehoshua now has a pro skate record of 0 wins and 1 loss.
Yehoshua did take a loss, and that is ok. His presence alone in the competition only reinforces his nomination for Best New Skater. He’s got about three years of experience as a skater and he is doing quite well. As a JBGOD, the demand is always high for more jumps, more speed and more stunts.
The events of this outdoor battle shall be recorded in history.
After years of going from job to job with an interest in being financially independent, I’ve learned a special value in wardrobe. It’s important to have your own business attire. Jobs are so comforting and wearing their workplace gear can make you forget about your own. I think it’s important to have dress clothes that you can wear for any corporate environment. Having multiple pairs of each is just as important. Sports shoes and casual footwear are both fun to collect. But there is so much more security in owning three pairs of black dress shoes and three black suits to match.
Your Personal Wardrobe Is An Asset
Most jobs require a branded uniform. They are awesome, they make you feel like you belong. The uniform is visible proof that you belong. At some point, we usually move on from one job to the next and a routine tradition happens, we buy new uniforms. Suddenly, an investment that we have made no longer serves us. Then, we repeat that same investment for a new company. Here is the part that I would like to emphasize. In between jobs, we go to interviews and we wear business attire.
Today is the day of the Rising Stars Battle taking place in Dolton this evening. Skaters will compete head to head in an elimination style battle. The final competitors will face each other in a separate event at the Lynwood Sports Center in Lynwood.
Many skaters have signed up to participate in the Rising Stars Battle. It’s a great opportunity for new skaters to get their names known in this outdoor battle. Skaters compete against one another elimination style with the hopes of earning a cash prize for their win.
Competition wins can lead you to an award nomination.
It is a tragedy. Assailants shot and killed a man while walking on the sidewalk on Near West Side. According to reports, five men with guns killed him. They got out of a dark colored SUV and fired shots at him. Medical services arrived on the scene and transported the 40 year old victim to Stroger Hospital. Doctors pronounced him dead after arrival. The killing took place on 14th street near the University of Illinois Chicago campus.
People Shot and Killed Regularly
Please do not let the silence fool you, people die on a regular basis in Chicago. It’s a sad reality but it’s true and we should acknowledge this fact. The city is dangerous and there are plenty of people willing to do dangerous things. People get killed or hurt on a regular basis here. Often times the general public doesn’t even hear about it. Keep yourself informed about your area and the trending crimes. This information can keep you out of a bad situation.
Be Vigilant and Be Safe
Criminals often target visitors in the city. They steal cars on a regular basis. Don’t leave your car running. People look for that and they steal cars. This tip is not as grave as the man who was shot and killed on the west side but it’s just as important.
The local economy of the Robert Crown Community is going to take a financial blow with the closing of two ice rinks. According to Cynthia Vargas, the city’s communication director, this problem came about as a result of routine maintenance. As a result, the facility lost the ability to maintain that necessary freezing temperature for the ice.
A similar issue has plagued the city of Chicago for some time. Skating rinks that people have grown up in and looked forward to visiting for many years have begun to close their doors.
Skating rink closure force skaters to move around in major Illinois cities.
