Because of this strange and chilly Chicago weather, the battles have been moved to another day. Stay connected with JBGODS for updates. Pat will keep skaters updated on the course of the battles via Instagram. The dates changed for rising stars but skaters are not deterred.

Pat is a well known and respected JBSKATER from Chicago. Skaters all over the country know his name.

This is a great opportunity for skaters to create their own opportunities for recognition. The weather is a bit gray and window so naturally the dates changed for the rising stars battle.

Inconsistent Spring/Fall Weather In Chicago

We have been dealing with some inconsistent weather in Chicago.

One day the weather is cold, the next day the weather is warm. During the day the skies are sunny and at night the air is chilly. This spring to summer weather is behaving very much like a Los Angeles winter. You never know when you’ll need a jack or A.C. This winter was an easy winter, there was not a lot of snowfall, slush or extreme temperatures. It seems as though the climate is paying us back with a little bit of guess and go.

Despite the inconsistent weather, skaters are still going to skate.

Build Strong Feet For Better Roller Skating Control

Follow our advice in order to build strong feet. Walking on a treadmill at a high incline will work the muscles in your feet in a way that you would not get from walking on an even grade. Carrying additional weight, like a weight vest, can put some additional pressure on your feet as well, intensifying the workout. This type of workout should be included at least twice in your weekly schedule. Spend about thirty minutes, just walking on an incline, to exercise the muscles in those feet.

Point and Flex

Those little exercises really do help. You can point and flex while you’re sitting at your desk. It’s so simple but so effective. The downside about doing a simple point and flex is that you have to do a lot of them to really see results. So, point and flex before the session and do a good stretch after.

Introducing The Authority In JBSKATING

Pharaoh is the authority in JBSKATING.

Pharaoh is the man behind the very first award and award show that recognizes roller skating professionals. October 2025 is the first year of the JBGODS Rose Awards, it’s an exclusive event where attendees participate by invitation only. Award nominees and award winners are chosen by a group of their peers, much like the Recording Academy at the Grammys. Pharaoh has created an organization, JBGODS, which allows skaters and skate professionals to become voting members.

Pharaoh has been a JBSKATER for 11 years. He has trained with some of the most skilled and well versed instructors out of Chicago. He has taken that knowledge and turned it into the authoritative company, team, music entity and brand, JBGODS. Amongst many others, these are a few reasons why Pharaoh is the authority in JBSKATING.

How To Become A Voting Member

The Skate Park Under The Kennedy

According to a recent story from CBS Chicago, posted on their YouTube channel, there is a skate park under the Kennedy that has been there since 2009. Noel Brennan of CBS Chicago introduces us to Mark Heller who supports this skate park and has done so for 23 years. Heller believes that this area can become full of activity, maybe become a bustling hotspot for skaters. He hopes to expand the park, making it much like the popular Lot 11 skate park in under the i95 in Miami.

According to Mark, supporters and local leaders have helped raised up to $800,000 for this project. It’s an interesting one. The land surrounding the area belongs to the Illinois Department of Transportation. We’ll continue checking in with Mark to see how things go.

The Skullcandy Crusher Cup in Salt Lake City

On May 16th, 2025 the Skullcandy Crusher Cup events will kick off in Salt Lake City Utah. This event is a street contest only, taking place in the Kilby Block Party. Skaters must register online to compete in the event.

Kai Competes Against The Pros

Pro skater Kai entered a Japanese freestyle skateboarding competition. She competed in the professional division. Her skills definitely show that she belongs there. Congratulations Kai, we can’t wait to see more from you.

Pro skaters continue to impress us and make the world of skating what it is. They set the bar and create the standard for what it means to be a professional. These competitions are the battle grounds that determine who shall rise and who shall try again.

Awarded Skaters

We all compete for awards and recognition. The JBGODS Rose Awards offers that recognition with our annual awards show coming in October of 2025. This awards show parallels the Grammys and the Oscars in its value. No other program like it exists for JBSKATERS and other skate professionals.

Does Pharaoh Skate At Any Skate Parties

No, Pharaoh does not skate in any skate parties anymore. He thinks they are crowded and they don’t prioritize JBSKATING. Pharaoh gets exactly what he wants and needs from the regular skate sessions in Chicago. To Pharaoh, skate parties are more expensive session with less space and opportunity to skate. The GodKing Pharaoh does not skate in any battles. He has a very specific agenda for his name and for the JBGODS brand. In order to adhere to that agenda, he does not accept any challenges to skate battles.
