Man Shot And Killed On Near West Side

It is a tragedy. Assailants shot and killed a man while walking on the sidewalk on Near West Side. According to reports, five men with guns killed him. They got out of a dark colored SUV and fired shots at him. Medical services arrived on the scene and transported the 40 year old victim to Stroger Hospital. Doctors pronounced him dead after arrival. The killing took place on 14th street near the University of Illinois Chicago campus.

Please do not let the silence fool you, people die on a regular basis in Chicago. It’s a sad reality but it’s true and we should acknowledge this fact. The city is dangerous and there are plenty of people willing to do dangerous things. People get killed or hurt on a regular basis here. Often times the general public doesn’t even hear about it. Keep yourself informed about your area and the trending crimes. This information can keep you out of a bad situation.

Be Vigilant and Be Safe

Criminals often target visitors in the city. They steal cars on a regular basis. Don’t leave your car running. People look for that and they steal cars. This tip is not as grave as the man who was shot and killed on the west side but it’s just as important.

Two Ice Skating Rinks Close In Evanston

The local economy of the Robert Crown Community is going to take a financial blow with the closing of two ice rinks. According to Cynthia Vargas, the city’s communication director, this problem came about as a result of routine maintenance. As a result, the facility lost the ability to maintain that necessary freezing temperature for the ice.

A similar issue has plagued the city of Chicago for some time. Skating rinks that people have grown up in and looked forward to visiting for many years have begun to close their doors.

New Ice Rink Coming To Downtown Topeka

According to KSNT News, work is underway for a new ice skating rink in Evergy Plaza. This 4500 square foot rink will be self cooling and meant to become the core of activity for Evergy Plaza. The rink is planned to be finished between 2025 and 2026. Once the rink is up and running, it will be operational for 3 months out of the year.

Ice rinks bring ice skaters young and to be social and slide around with glee.

I started preparing some new songs towards the end of last year. They’ve been sitting in their folders for some months now. Building the JBGODS Rose Award and the team staff has been my primary point of attention this year. This may last for years and months forward.

I’m starting off the day with some mini squats and bent over rows. The squats are on a fixed rack holding 250 pounds of weights. For the bent over rows, I’m pulling two 80 pounds dumb bells.

Pharaoh does squats and stretches almost every day. He goes twice his weight and aims for hundreds of reps per day. This is to facilitate a high volume of reps and to burn the most calories.

Prices For Everything Are Higher

These days, you can spend more money in grocery prices than you can from spending money at a restaurant. You can easily put 8 items in your shopping cart and spend $50. That’s the norm now and that is insane. My terrible advice is to spend that money on cooked food. The difference in pay off almost breaks even. If you want to save a few dollars, of course, the better option is to buy your food and cook it yourself. But, if your time is more valuable, then having someone else spend their time and resources to cook your meal helps you save on your most valuable resource, time.

The economy is taking a huge turn this year. The skating rinks have to be taking a loss with the rise in prices. Another skating rink in Chicago has closed its doors. That was to be expected, you never really saw any improvements happen on the building.

The Catholic Church Has A New Pope

I don’t know anything about the Catholic church but I can tell that it is a big deal for us to be able to see the new pope take over. He is from Chicago which is quite interesting. Surely, he has had some notoriety from various sources as a Cardinal. Hopefully, that’s the way you’re supposed to say it, once again I’m brand new to this. I have a small gripe with people who so loudly support him now. Why didn’t he get the same support before becoming the new pope? I didn’t see his name mentioned before he took on his new role. To me, this is an example of people only supporting you and talking about you when it raises their status or makes them look more important for knowing you.

On a more positive note, it is good to watch his internet presence grow and see his Google knowledge panel develop. That’s an accomplishment that lasts forever.

A Shooting On 63rd This Evening

There was a shooting on 63rd that shook up the neighborhood this evening. Someone fired off several shots into a small crowd of people in a parking lot. No one was hurt or killed. For some of us this is common place and for others this is something new and very scary. Immediately after, conversations began. The same conversations that need to be held on a regular basis. What is next? What comes after the conversation? A solution comes next.

Offer A Solution And Be A Part Of It

After all of the talking and deliberating, solutions are necessary for events like this shooting on 63rd. The mistake that we constantly make is pursuing those solutions with inadequate means. A few people can’t do it alone. Only a few people are reached and less than a handful of problems are solved. Then there we are, right back where we started, with the same question. Now what??

How To Burn A Lot Of Calories Quickly

There is no easy way to do this. It requires a lot of work and a lot of time. Read along and find out how to burn a lot of calories quickly.

  1. First, put in some layers. Don’t let the layers fool you though. I think the focus should be on movement that generates body heat. When you are moving, getting your muscles and core temperature raised, you begin to burn calories. I don’t think just sitting in a hot place with a sweat suite on is burning fat. I think that removes the stuff from your body that you need to keep.
  2. Add some extra weight to your body. I walk around wearing a pullover and a weight vest. That added weight forces your muscles to burn more calories.
  3. You have to do this several times per day. I think the most ideal amount of time is two hours. It’s really hard but the results come fast.
  4. The next way to burn a lot of calories is to move heavy weight very fast. Now, you are not “lifting”. This is more closely related to cardio. So, you can sacrifice form. You don’t need full extensions and you don’t need complete flexion. Take squats for example. If you can hold 200 pounds comfortably, then do as many baby squats as you can in one set. This will get your core heated up fast, thus burning fat.
